As you’ll be able to see from my selection of green turtle images, they are one of my favourite marine life subjects to capture on my free dives at the Great Barrier Reef. There’s something that is incredibly compelling about green turtles; whether it’s their gentle grace, their calm aura, or the playful spark in their eye.
When encountering this particular green turtle above the coral reef, she swam up incredibly close to inspect my camera equipment. It was a beautiful moment of connection and quiet companionship, both of us floating peacefully in the underwater currents. With all of my photography, I hope to capture something new or unique about the ocean life I encounter, and with this image I was particularly pleased with how her charming personality shines through.
