Whilst many may feel daunted by the prospect of coming face to face with a shark in Australian waters, encountering this grey nurse shark at Julian Rocks was a truly spectacular experience for me. With the water visibility quite low, our paths crossed unexpectedly at the last minute, but I was lucky enough to capture this striking image before she cruised out of reach.
As the grey nurse shark is listed as critically endangered, it was a compelling reminder of just how magnificent this marine life truly is. Their sleek strength and innate power would make anyone believe them to be indestructible, but this is very far from the truth. Which is why I hope this wall art is enough to make anyone pause and reflect on the brilliance of these creatures and the importance of supporting their conservation.
