Although I was initially diving near the Pacific Harbour on the island of Suva in Fiji in the hopes of encountering some sharks, I couldn’t resist the urge to pause and capture this coral reef image to add to my wall art collection. The vibrant colours made the coral almost appear as if it were lit with fire from within.
With the worldwide threat to coral reefs from global warming, the focus of this photography was also to highlight the importance of protecting ocean ecosystems. Whilst celebrating the sheer beauty of these delicate underwater structures, I hope this image sparks conversation about its conservation. So that we can support coral reefs to not just survive, but thrive, for generations to come.
